Well, Carol, Penny has learned to do everything in her power to make sure she's the
center of attention and I've learned little tricks to ensure that Jake maintains his
status.  I think he takes pride to see Penny imitate him.  She jumps right into his
face, bites his ears but he's been a real trooper and has just started to tell her
off when he's had enough.  I've been brushing Jake's teeth for the past five years
and when I first tried it on Penny, she would have nothing of it.  I brushed Jake's
teeth while she watched only to have her finally march right up to me afterward,
tilt her little face upward and let me brush HER teeth.  Now she looks forward to it
and gets so excited when I bring out the brushes. We attend "Puppy Class" weekly
which she really enjoys (though I think she looks forward to all the treats), we go
to the doggie park just about every day and take several walks daily with each one
walking at my side.  She loves to pose for pictures and I'm forwarding some to you.
Maybe you'll put some into your "success" stories section.  The first picture shows
the two of them about a week after she joined our household and you will see the
progress just in the last month.  She's growing very fast, mainly in height and
length so it will be interesting to see what she looks like when she's a year old.
She has a very loving disposition and lets me do just about anything to her but she
sure stands up for herself with Jake.  I think once she outgrows the puppy stage,
she and Jake will be good friends.  He is very protective of her and the expression
on Jake's face when she licks his face is precious ... very lovingly.
