Say hello to Sweetie! (DOB 2009). Sweetie was found stray in a country pasture in very rough shape. She was heavily matted with fleas and her eyes were crusted shut and she unable to see. The property owner who found her turned her over to us. We discovered she was microchipped. The chip company tried to contact her listed owner on her microchip but it was unfortunately a dead end. We, of course, immediately cleaned her up. We gave her Bravecto and shaved her. After a warm bath, including good ear and eye cleaning, she felt so much better! We then took her to the vet for complete exam, vaccines and heartworm testing, which was negative! She went back to the vet for a dental cleaning, then to the eye specialist vet for an exam. She was diagnosed with severe dry eye and glaucoma in one blinded eye. The other eye has a cataract but it is thin enough so she can still see. Next, she had surgery to remove the painful blind eye. She is finally all well and ready for a home to call her own! Phew! Miraculously, she will only need 2 drops daily to maintain her eye health and comfort. She is a sweet outgoing and friendly dog that loves treats. Her favorite thing is eating! She gets along well with other dogs.
